We enjoy hosting groups here at Ocean Organics be that gardeners/farmers/growing groups and hosting international speakers.
We have large facilities that cater for up to 50-60 people with wifi and a projector.
Generally groups come in for a few hours and we talk about the value of seaweed to our eco-system explain a bit about what we do here have some morning/afternoon tea and finish off with a guided tour. With most groups they like to plan a day trip so please call us or see below some of our recommendations.
Season dependant we are able to organise workshops with the support of Nikki from Vital Harvest:
- Edible Gardening workshops 3hours , $75 pp includes morning tea and lunch
- Composting & Worm farming workshops 3 hours, $60pp includes drink and nibbles
You are most welcome to contact us on 0800 732 9333 to discuss the requirements of your group and a suitable date for your visit.
Firstly one day is just not enough in Paeroa there is so much to see and experience.
Spending a night or two in town at Peddlers Motel, or the beautiful miner’s cabin at the Refinery
Enjoy a big breakfast at the courtyard café in the main street.
During the day there are many amazing antique shops to visit including Arkwright antiques, we have the Paeroa historical museum in the main street and also the Maritime museum just out of town.
Spent an hour lounging at the refinery café for lunch, hire some bikes from the Paeroa information centre and head through the Karangahake gorge stopping at the Waitawheta waterfall for some photos after that head up the hill to the Fall’s retreat for a pizza and cider or an early dinner.
If you’re travelling with children a must would be to visit the Bull’s Wool farm park just out of town heading towards Waihi.
If you’re looking for a soak in private thermal baths Te aroha mineral spa’s are the perfect place – but booking are essential as they are very popular.
If you’re keen to head out a little further the Flat white café is beautiful for a meal – try and get there before sunset to enjoy the beautiful view of waihi beach.
